I got my copy of Columbia college Today in the mail this afternoon. The cover photo shows the new graduates, resplendent in their light blue graduation gowns. I think all the black women in the class were co-opted to appear in the first two rows. The center of the photograph is occupied by a large black woman with her arms draped over smaller students to either side. It is not until the fourth row that you finally see someone with blond hair. So much diversity. So few Anglo-Saxon males. Does anyone doubt that when the university president looks at this photo his heart just bursts with pride?
