I Think the Third Response

If unemployment is over 10% in California, the economy in freefall and everyone broke, why is there still so much traffic on the freeways?

Possible answers:

* everyone is out looking for work
* gas is cheap and anyway there's no relationship between driving and the economy
* most Californians take the attitude, if they want my car, they can pry the steering wheel from my cold dead hands
