According to the Pentagon, Quantanamo inmate Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has confessed to a stunningly long list of terriorist operations, from planning 9-11, to beheading Daniel Pearl, to bombing nightclubs in Kenya and Bali, to trying to shoot down an Israeli passenger jet with a missle, to planning assassination attempts on President Carter and Clinton, Pope John Paul II and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. He also confessed to trying to blow up an oil company owned by Henry Kissinger, as well as nuclear power plants, bridges and American and Israeli embassies.
All this could be true. But frankly to me the list of things he confessed to doing reminds me of the confessions of defendants in the Russian Show Trials. They only thing Khalid didn't confess to was causing global warming and impregnating Anne Nicole Smith.
