Dear Congressman Becerra:
Democrats have traditionally opposed domestic oil production to protect the environment. The environment is not in danger but our economy is. In order to cut our dependence on foreign oil, we need to drill off the California coast. Wealthy Californians who live on the beaches should not have the right to stop offshore drilling just so nothing mars their "viewshed." It makes far more sense to produce oil at home than buy it overseas.
